See the internal notes below this article.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Collecting Horizon View log bundles<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Horizon Servers:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Log in to the View Connection Server.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go to\u00a0<strong>Start<\/strong>\u00a0>\u00a0<strong>Programs<\/strong>\u00a0>\u00a0<strong>VMware<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click Generate Horizon Connection Server Log Bundle. On the desktop, the folder\u00a0<code>vdm-sdct<\/code>\u00a0contains zipped log files with the date of generation in the filename.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To enable advanced debug logging:\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Go to\u00a0<strong>Start<\/strong>\u00a0>\u00a0<strong>Programs<\/strong>\u00a0>\u00a0<strong>VMware<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click Set Horizon Connection Server Log Levels.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When prompted, press\u00a0<kbd>3<\/kbd>\u00a0to enable advanced logging.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong>&nbsp;Enabling advanced debug logging only ensures that future events are logged at a high level of log granularity. Only enable logging above this when directed by VMware Support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Horizon Composer Server:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Log in to the Horizon Composer Server.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go to\u00a0<strong>Start<\/strong>\u00a0>\u00a0<strong>All Programs<\/strong>\u00a0>\u00a0<strong>VMware<\/strong>\u00a0>\u00a0<strong>VMware Horizon Composer<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select Create Horizon Composer Support Logs.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>On the desktop, the folder&nbsp;<code>vdm-sdct<\/code>&nbsp;contains zipped log files with the generation date in the filename.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>VMware Unified Access Gateway:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You can manage the log-level settings from the admin User Interface.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go to the Support Settings page and select the Log Level Settings. The log levels that can be generated are INFO, WARNING, ERROR, and DEBUG.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can download the logs as a ZIP file from the Support Settings section of the admin UI.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Alternatively, you can enter a direct URL to initiate:\u00a0<code>https:\/\/youruagfqdn.com:9443\/rest\/v1\/monitor\/support-archive<\/code><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong>&nbsp;Replace&nbsp;<code>ouruagfqdn.com<\/code>&nbsp;with the fully qualified domain name of your Unified Access Gateway appliance from a browser that can reach the admin portal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Horizon Agent:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Log in to a virtual machine with Horizon Agent installed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Open a command prompt and run:\u00a0C:\\Program Files\\VMware\\VMware View\\Agent\\DCT\\support.bat<strong>Note<\/strong>: With a Horizon Cloud on Azure deployment, the file path location differs:\u00a0C:\\Program Files\\VMware\\Horizon Agents\\Horizon Agent\\DCT\\support.batOn the desktop, the folder\u00a0<code>vdm-sdct<\/code>\u00a0contains zipped log files with the date of generation in the filename.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To enable advanced debug logging:\u00a0<ul><li>Open a command prompt and run:<\/li><\/ul>&#8220;C:\\Program Files\\VMware\\VMware View\\Agent\\DCT\\support.bat&#8221; loglevels<strong>Note<\/strong>: With a Horizon Cloud on Azure deployment, the command differs:\u00a0C:\\Program Files\\VMware\\Horizon Agents\\Horizon Agent\\DCT\\support.bat loglevels<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When prompted, press\u00a0<kbd>2<\/kbd>\u00a0to enable advanced logging.\u00a0<strong>Note:<\/strong>\u00a0Enabling advanced debug logging will only ensure that any future events are logged at a high level of log granularity. Only enable logging above this when directed to by VMware Support.To collect Agent logs remotely from the Connection Server, run this command in a command prompt:\u00a0vdmadmin -A -getDCT -outfile\u00a0file_name.zip\u00a0-d\u00a0pool_name\u00a0-m\u00a0virtual_machine_nameBy default, this utility is located in the Connection Server:\u00a0C:\\Program Files\\VMware\\Vmware View\\Server\\tools\\bin\u00a0<strong>Note:<\/strong>\u00a0Use a unique, descriptive name for the file name &#8211; Ideally including the machine name and a timestamp.<br>More detailed examples are available here:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.vmware.com\/en\/VMware-Horizon-7\/7.10\/horizon-administration\/GUID-57397A61-E858-4A72-AA6B-19BA9E8F0A36.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Configuring Logging in Horizon Agent Using the -A Option<\/a>.<strong>Notes:<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The support bundle is created in the directory where the command is run.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The pool name and virtual machine name are both case-sensitive.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This command may be run while a user is connected and working on the virtual machine.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>View Agent Linux:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Log in to a Linux virtual machine.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Run the\u00a0<code>dct-debug.sh<\/code>\u00a0script.\u00a0sudo \/usr\/lib\/vmware\/viewagent\/bin\/dct-debug.sh<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>The script generates a tarball that contains the DCT bundle.
